NATURE / AL for The Venice Glass Week 2024
A collective, ephemeral exhibition designed to transform a dinner table into a living gallery for one unforgettable evening. "NATURE/AL" is both a retrospective and a natural progression, showcasing the works of glass artists who have previously exhibited at Palazzo Contarini Polignac. The exhibition includes not only a selection from Feleksan Onar’s renowned "Perched" series but also pieces by Maria Grazia Rosin, Aristide Najean, Tristano di Robilant, Hugh Findletar, and Allegra Hicks.
For this night alone, the dinner table becomes a canvas, capturing the delicate interplay between art and nature, tradition and innovation, inviting guests to admire and savor its beauty. Curated with intention, this installation celebrates the evolution and dialogue of glass artistry through the distinct perspectives of each artist.
Concurrently with this exhibition, Onar continues to collaborate with Palazzo Contarini Polignac for the 7th edition of the conference series: “Murano-Istanbul: A Glass Making Journey VII’’
This edition will explore the influences between Murano and Spanish/Catalan glass production, focusing on the aftermath of the Battle of Lepanto (1571). This year’s speakers include Prof. Vera Costantini, University Ca’ Foscari of Venice, Susanna Garcia Gonzalez, Curator, Peralada Museum of Glass and Ceramics, Girona, Spain and Ayşe Aldemir, Collection Manager, Sabancı University, Sakıp Sabancı Museum, Istanbul, Turkey. The conference will be curated by Dr. Sema Postacıoğlu.
